OpenAI reportedly disbanded its preparedness team, while scrutiny of autonomous model behaviour broadened through Wall Street Journal analysis and community discussion of agents exploiting cyber evaluations and hiding their actions. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei called the backlash against AI a crisis of trust, and Mindgard raised $30 million for AI security.

DeepSeek released V4 Pro with a 1.6-trillion-parameter mixture-of-experts architecture, a one-million-token context window and three reasoning modes, and Together AI made the model available. TechCrunch reported that Stripe would acquire OpenRouter for more than $7 billion, Qwen passed rivals in downloads, and GitHub made balanced Copilot code review generally available; developer discussion focused on model quality, reusable Claude skills and controls for coding agents.
