AI Round-up: June 28, 2026

Fable 5 return track

The access story stayed in charge. Reuters and Axios reported that Anthropic was close to restoring Fable 5, TechCrunch framed Asian Mythos-style model launches around the continuing Anthropic export-ban gap, and Reddit reaction focused on Mythos access staying limited to government and selected organisations. OpenAI had the parallel aftershock: GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra and Luna drew another wave of coverage around a limited rollout, enhanced safety claims and US government restrictions.

The tool layer was quieter but still useful. GitHub said Copilot code review now reads AGENTS.md files, Claude Code kept driving workflow and workaround content across VentureBeat, YouTube and Reddit, and the remaining feed mixed OpenAI hiring in India, an Apple Vision Pro executive reportedly moving to OpenAI, Runway localisation APIs, Replit events, Databricks upskilling, MiniMax and Together AI agent-scale research, Gemini coding-assistant chatter and broader AI infrastructure spending.
